Bill has worked with Michael Mann on numerous occasions. Big fans of Michael Mann's projects will remember seeing him appearing in Mann's TV series 'Crime Story' (alongside Dennis Farina), and he also popped up in a very small role in the 1986 movie titled Band of the Hand.

The film was executively produced by Michael Mann and of course starred fellow Manhunter star Stephen Lang. Finally, to complete the Michael Mann connections, Bill featured in the original pilot episode for Miami Vice too! Mr. Smitrovich has starred in episodes of Star Trek : Deep Space Nine as Will.
