"Father look in my eyes... See me as I really am..."
Arguably the best-used song in the entire film, "Strong As I Am" powers out of our TV during the brilliant scene where Francis (Dollarhyde) wrongly feels that he is being betrayed by Reba (with her work-colleague Ralph Dandridge)
The combination of Tom Noonan's incredible acting, Mann's intelligent direction and The Prime Movers' memorable music create an uncomfortable feeling throughout the sequence.
Availability - *updated Spring 2007*
Sadly, this song has never been available on Compact Disc, though this looks set to be rectified sometime in 2006/2007 with the planned re-issue of their "Island EP" (on the Birdcage Records label).
Update: "Strong As I Am" has been included on the fantastic Rhino Records release - "Music From The Films of Michael Mann" (it's track 2 on Disc 1) - fantastic news for fans of this song (3 other tracks from Manhunter are also present - including Red7's "Heartbeat"!)
